Squid I

This is one of my first paintings on canvas. I painted this in the summer of junior year of college while listening to Ayn Rand's The Fountainhead. It was a time in which I spend the full day painting while immersed in the book - it made me feel that I can do whatever I put my mind to, and I feel that this firm and strong energy emanates from the work. The Squid mirrors Howard Roark's architecture, boldly jutting straight into the sky. This reminds me fondly of a free summer, painting with a worry-free headspace.
